Dental Crowns

Dental crowns, or caps, are a type of dental restoration which covers the entire visible portion of the tooth. Crowns are typically recommended when a tooth has been fractured, broken or decayed. They may also be provided following a root canal or to improve the appearance of a tooth. Crowns work by covering and protecting the tooth from further damage and restoring the appearance and function of the tooth.

Crowns usually require two appointments to complete. During the first appointment, your dentist will prepare the tooth and make an impression. The crown will then be designed. At the second appointment, the crown will be placed onto the tooth and checked to ensure that it fits properly. It will then be fixed in place.

Dental Veneers & Lumineers®

Dental veneers are typically provided for cosmetic purposes, but they may also help correct small cracks or chipping. Veneers cover the front surfaces of the teeth, providing a naturally beautiful and regular appearance to the tooth. In addition to regular dental veneers, Smile Plus Dentistry also provides Lumineers®, a type of ultra-thin veneer that closely mimics the appearance and translucence of your tooth enamel, which has been known to last for more than 20 years.

Veneers, like crowns, usually require two appointments to complete. During the first appointment, your tooth will be prepared to receive veneers. This may involve the removal of some tooth enamel. An impression will be taken and sent to a dental lab where your veneers will be made. During the second appointment, your dentist will place the veneers on your teeth.
